Kress Foundation on 1 July 1950 as Sandro Botticelli; on loan to the Birmingham Museum of Art, 1952; gift of the Kress Foundation to the Birmingham Museum of Art in 1961, no. 1961.120.  Coope according to Christie's 1921 sale catalogue. The picture was not included in the estate sale of Coope's painting collection held at Christies, London, 6 May 1910.
