[1] This is likely M Georges Martini, whose estate sale held at the Hôtel Drouot in Paris 20-22 February 1911 included several Dutch paintings. [2] Inventory of collection prepared 1949 in M1946/Records of the Munich Central Collecting Point/Restitution Claim records/Jewish claims 0141, on which this painting is likely no. 1215 [Rothschild no 1397], called Scene at an Inn. The painting was not included in either of two 1950 sales of the Max Rothschild collection held at Park Bernet in New York. [3] Lent to Life in Seventeenth Century Holland, Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, 1951, no. 58.
